The
ability to access Yahoo! Mail via Windows Live Mail is only available to
customers of our Yahoo! Mail Plus service.
Here is
what you'll need to setup your Yahoo! Mail Plus account in Windows Live Mail.
How To Setup A Yahoo! Mail Email

The first time you open Windows Live Mail, the Add
an E-mail Account dialog automatically opens, or you can find the Add
an e-mail account button in Windows Live Mail's left-side pane

Type
your full Yahoo! Mail Plus email address in the following format yourname@yahoo.com.

Type
your Yahoo! Mail Plus password. (It's safe to give your password to Windows
Live Mail.) Windows Live Mail will automatically remember your Yahoo! Mail
password, but you can uncheck the Remember password check box if you
want.

Display Name
determines how emails you send from will look to your recipients. The display
name doesn't have to match your Yahoo! Mail Plus user name.

Make
sure to check the Manually configure server settings for e-mail account
check box.

Click
Next

The next screen is for Windows Live Mail's connection
settings. It requests the validation information you need to enable a
connection between Windows Live Mail and your Yahoo! Mail account. The top
section of this screen starts with Incoming Server Information. It asks how
Windows Live Mail will retrieve your emails from the 's servers.

Choose
POP3 as server type.

Enter
the incoming mail server value as plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com.

Enter
the port number as 995.
|

Check
the This server requires a secure connection (SSL) check box.

Leave
the default setting for logging in as Clear text authentication.

Under
Login ID, enter your Yahoo! Mail user name (the part of your email address
that comes before "@yahoo.com").

Set the outgoing server address to plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com.

Enter the port number as 465.

Make sure to check the check boxes that say: This
server requires a secure connection (SSL), and My outgoing server
requires authentication.

If you
don't receive this confirmation, it may mean that your Yahoo! Mail Plus
password was incorrect, your Yahoo! Mail Plus email address was incorrect, or
that you failed to get a good internet connection.
